The Symbols of America
I'd like to tell you about the symbols of America.
There are three official symbols of the USA. They are the American
flag, the Eagle and the Statue of Liberty.
The American flag is called "The Stars and Stripes"/ It is red, white and blue. there are 50 stars on the flag. They mean 50 states. There are 13 stripes on the flag. They mean the first 13 colonies.Americans are very proud of their flag. You can see it in
schools, shops and offices.

The Statue of Liberty is the second symbol of the USA. It is in New York on Liberty Island. France gave the Statue of Liberty to America in 1884 as a symbol of friendship.
The Eagle is the third symbol of America. It has an olive branch and arrows. They are the symbols of peace and strength.
