                                                               Mass Media

The Mass Media is a collective name for newspapers, magazines, radio, television and the Internet. Newspapers and magazines are the oldest of the Mass Media. The Internet is the youngest one.



In newspapers and magazines we can find various information. Usually papers are divided into sections: politics, economics, business and finance, science and technology, culture, home and international news, current events, weather forecasts, radio and TV programmes etc. Newspapers and magazines are published in a great number of copies. They are usually very informative and provide information on various subjects.They inform, instruct and entertain readers.

Probably, the most popular of the Mass Media nowadays are the television and the Internet. Modern television broadcasts its programmes all over the country, as different channels to satisfy any taste, shows programmes live and in recording, keeps us informed, educated and entertains us. Nowadays people spend more and more time in front of the telly watching their favourite programmes or just surfing the channels. The choice of programmes is really wide: the news, feature or documentary films, educational programmes, interviews, games, cartoons etc. Surfing the Internet is the favourite pastime for young people. The Internet gives us a lot - information, edication, entertainment. It connects people all over the world.
As for me, I prefer to ..., because ... .
